Zwischen guten Vorsätzen und neuen Büchern – Meine Beziehung zum SuB
Mein Stapel ungelesener Bücher und ich führen eine Beziehung, die vermutlich irgendwo zwischen großer Zuneigung, gelegentlichem schlechten Gewissen und völliger Uneinsichtigkeit angesiedelt ist. Denn natürlich möchte ich all die Bücher lesen, die bereits bei mir eingezogen sind. Das hält mich allerdings erstaunlich selten davon ab, noch ein paar neue dazuzustellen. Ihr kennt das sicherlich. 📚
Heute geht es deshalb einmal ganz gezielt um meine Beziehung zu meinem SuB. In insgesamt 10 Fragen werfe ich einen Blick darauf, welche Bücher mich in diesem Jahr begleitet haben, welche endlich vom SuB befreit wurden, welche neu eingezogen sind und bei welchen ich irgendwann beschlossen habe: Nein, wir beide werden keine Freunde mehr. Ja, auch die DNFs dürfen natürlich mitreden.
Dabei möchte ich versuchen, mich möglichst auf 2026 zu beschränken und vor allem Bücher einzubeziehen, die ich in diesem Jahr gelesen, abgebrochen oder neu gekauft habe. Ob mir das bei allen zehn Fragen gelingt? Nun ja … mein SuB und ich haben schließlich schon eine etwas längere gemeinsame Geschichte. Es könnte also durchaus passieren, dass ich hier und da ein wenig in der Vergangenheit wühle.
Also schauen wir mal, was diese zehn Fragen über meine Beziehung zu meinem SuB verraten. Und vielleicht finden wir dabei sogar heraus, wer hier eigentlich wen unter Kontrolle hat. 😉
1) Die Beziehung jung halten – Welche sind das älteste und das neueste Buch auf Deinem SuB, nach dem Datum an dem Du es gekauft hast in 2026?
Das erste gekaufte Buch in diesem Jahr war Undead Oaths von Caitlyn Battelle, da ich den Vorgängerband Undead Gods aus der gleichnamigen Reihe bereits als ARC gelesen hatte und eigentlich zeitnah weiterlesen wollte. Aber wir wissen alle, wie es mit den Lesevorhaben manchmal laufen kann. 😁
Das letzte gekaufte Buch ist der vierte Band des Love & Fate – Quartetts aus der Feder des Autorinnenduos Jeanette Rose und Alexis Rune. Hier lese ich aktuell den zweiten Band.

2) Gegensätze ziehen sich an – Welches ist das Buch, auf das Du am wenigsten Lust hast es zu lesen? Und welches Buch würdest Du gern sofort beginnen?
Aktuell habe ich am wenigsten Lust auf Rings of Fate von Melissa de la Cruz, welches das zweite gekaufte Buch in diesem Jahr war. Aber, und das ist jetzt ganz wichtig, ich habe Lust auf das Buch. Nur von allen neu eingezogenen Büchern rangiert es eben auf dem letzten Platz.
Dafür steht Styx – The River auf dem obersten Treppchen, allerdings möchte ich das Buch gemeinsam mit Aleshanee von Weltenwanderer lesen, die auf die Paperback-Ausgabe wartet. Und so warte ich halt einfach mit.
Wer weiß, vielleicht habe ich Rings of Fate dann sogar noch vor Styx gelesen. 😂

3) Sex mit dem Ex! – Welches bereits gelesene Buch hättest Du am liebsten wieder auf Deinem SuB, um es noch einmal „zum ersten Mal“ lesen zu können?
Oh, da gibt es so wahnsinnig viele Bücher, die ich gern noch einmal „zum ersten Mal“ lesen wollen würde. Ich beschränke mich allerdings einfach mal auf meine bisher gelesenen Bücher aus diesem Jahr.
Hekate – The Witch war eine absolute Überraschung. Nicht nur vom Schreibstil, sondern auch vom Inhalt. Ich hätte wirklich nicht gedacht, dass mich dieses Buch so nachhaltig prägen und beeindrucken würde. Der Rezensionslink führt zur englischen Rezension, bei welcher allerdings auch die deutsche Version verlinkt ist.

4) Dem Partner verzeihen – Hast Du ein Buch auf Deinem SuB, von einem Genre oder einem*r Autor*in, welche*r Dich dieses Jahr enttäuscht hat?
Bisher habe ich in diesem Jahr 3 Bücher DNF’d, also abgebrochen, und ich hoffe, dass es nicht noch mehr werden. Auch hatte ich das eine oder andere Buch dabei, das eben nicht auf stabile 3 Sterne gekommen ist. Allerdings kann ich hier ganz klar sagen, dass ich von den jeweiligen Autor*innen keine weiteren Bücher auf dem SuB liegen habe.

More auch eher verzichtet, eben weil ich es eher düster und etwas rauer mag. Cozy mag ich es nur auf der Couch, im Lesesessel oder im Bett. Bei den Büchern darf allerdings gern ein wenig Pfeffer dabei sein, sonst wird es mir zu langweilig. Allerdings bin ich auf meinem SuB fündig geworden. Ich habe dutzende Reihen auf meinem SuB, von denen ich min. zwei Bände im Regal stehen habe.
Aber um hier wirklich nur eine Reihe zu nennen – im April sind die folgenden beiden ersten Bände der Hierachy – Trilogie eingezogen:

Und so durften in diesem Jahr die beiden ersten bisher erschienenen Bände einziehen.

7) Aussehen ist nicht alles – Hast Du ein Buch, das Du hauptsächlich wegen des Covers gekauft hast und nicht weißt, ob es gut ist oder nicht?
Ja, solche Bücher habe ich. Und in den meisten Fällen, sofern ich sie bereits gelesen habe, haben sie mir bisher auch gefallen oder mich sogar total vom Hocker gehauen.
In diesem Jahr war dies auf jeden Fall Grave Empire von Richard Swan und auch das zweite Buch ist bereits vorbestellt. Das Cover hat mich sofort magisch angezogen, als ich es dieses Jahr bei der Blogger Aktion CoverLiebe entdeckt habe. Nun muss ich es nur noch lesen. 🙈

8) Wenn Du sie/ihn gut findest, lass Dir nicht von anderen hereinreden – Gibt es ein Buch, das auf Deinem SuB ist, das Du Dir gekauft hast, obwohl Du viele negative Rezensionen gesehen hast?
Ich bin ehrlich, ich lese wenig Rezensionen zu Büchern bevor ich sie kaufe und lese. Ich lass‘ mich lieber von meinem Instinkt leiten. Wenn mich Cover und Klappentext ansprechen, dann zählt genau das.
Andersherum habe ich es allerdings schon öfter erlebt, dass mich ein gehyptes Buch am Ende eher enttäuscht oder mit maximal stabilen 3 Sternen zurückgelassen hat. In diesem Jahr war We Who Will Die solch ein 3-Sterne-Buch. Es war mir einfach zu durchschaubar und das schon recht früh in der Geschichte. Der Link zu dieser Rezension führt ebenfalls zu der englischen Version, wo es dann allerdings auch eine deutsche Verlinkung gibt.
Ich kann aber sagen, dass ich aktuell schon noch Lust auf den Folgeband habe und hoffe auf etwas mehr Spannung und Charakterentwicklung.

9) Lass Dir beim Kennenlernen Zeit – Hast Du ein Buch, das ein Spontankauf von Dir war?
Spontankauf? Klar, so etwas gibt es immer wieder und leider viel zu oft.
Anfangs war ich nicht so interessiert an dem Buch, eben weil es sehr gehypt wurde. Ich glaube, das war im Sommer letzten Jahres. Als ich im April allerdings in die Buchhandlung marschiert bin, ist es zielsicher mit mir hinausgegangen. 😁

10) Geht zusammen ins Kino – Gibt es ein Buch auf Deinem SuB, das bereits verfilmt wurde, oder noch verfilmt werden soll?
Über eine Verfilmung von Quicksilver und Brimstone würde ich mich freuen, Allerdings habe ich die Bücher dazu bereits 2025 gelesen und nun warte ich gespannt auf den dritten Teil.
Recht weit oben auf meinem SuB liegt allerdings aktuell die Neuübersetzung ins Englische von Emily Wilson von Homer’s Klassiker The Odyssey. Die ist ja, wie wir alle wissen, verfilmt wurden und vor ein paar Wochen im Kino gezeigt wurden. Ich muss aber sagen, dass ich mir nicht sicher bin, ob ich die Verfilmung sehen werde. Denn hier habe ich schon ein paar Meinungen (zuviel) gehört und das wohl für die Geschichte auch wichtige Aspekte weggelassen wurden.
Außerdem finde ich die „Rüstung“ die König Agamemnon in dem Film trägt absolut lächerlich und hat mit der Antike überhaupt nichts zu tun. Er sieht eher aus, als wäre er ein gelandeter Alien, was wiederum Präaustronautiker glücklich machen würde. 😂
