First Lines Friday №58 | A Book Feature

First Lines Friday ist ein wöchentliches Feature für BuchliebhaberInnen, welches ursprünglich von Emma (Wandering Words) in der englischen Book Blogger Bubble veranstaltet wird. Nachdem ich bei Emma nachgefragt habe, darf ich dieses tolle Feature nun für den deutschsprachigen BuchbloggerInnen-Raum adaptieren und hosten. Ich freue mich. 😁

Ablauf:

Wähle ein Buch aus deinem Regal (es könnte deine aktuelle Lektüre, ein Buch vom SuB oder ein bereits Gelesenes sein) und öffnen die erste Seite
Jetzt zitierst du die ersten paar Zeilen (5-10), aber gib noch nichts über dein Buch preis – die TeilnehmerInnen sollen erst einmal rätseln

Today, Prince Cyrus returns to the capital with a bride, or else.
Form the Seer’s Tower, the tallest point in the Sun Capital, I can see a train of purple banners fluttering amit the fields outside the city — the royal caravan making the steep approach to the south gates. Cordoned-off crowds pack the streets, waiting to welcome their prince home. Six months have passed since Cyrus departed to tour the continent, since he set out to „seek from the land and its generous people all the wisdom“ that he could not learn in a palace.
