100 Books in 2026

Klick für deutsche Version

And once again, we gather at the threshold of a new reading year, standing before our stacks like pilgrims before a well-loved shrine. Some books are waiting patiently on our shelves, some are borrowed with hopeful due dates tucked inside, and others arrive fresh and gleaming from the most recent book haul, still smelling faintly of promise 📚✨

The 100 Books in 2026 Challenge is not about rules (just 5 small ones) or pressure, but about showing up. It is about turning pages in quiet moments, listening to stories while the world moves around you, and letting words accompany you through the year. Whether your reading comes from your TBR, the library, audiobooks on long walks, or impulse buys that insisted on coming home with you, every story counts.

All you need to do is simple: read or listen, then add each finished book to your list. No judgment, no competition, just a growing record of time spent with stories. One book at a time, a year shaped by words.

Here’s to curiosity, comfort reads, unexpected favorites, and the joy of returning to this list again and again.
Happy reading 😎

To keep things delightfully simple and fair, here are the official rules for the 100 Books in 2026 Challenge 📖✨

📚 Challenge Rules

  1. Challenge duration: The challenge runs from January 1st to December 31st, 2026. Only books finished within this time frame count.
  2. What counts: Only books and audiobooks are eligible. (Manga, graphic novels, comics, and similar formats do not count.)
  3. Who can join: Everyone is welcome! To join, simply leave a comment and you’re in.
  4. Track your reads: Every finished book or audiobook should be added to this list. One title, one entry, no complications.
  5. Share your challenge space: Create your own challenge post or tracking page on your blog or website, and share the link in a comment, so others can follow along.

That’s it. No minimum pace, no pressure to race, just a year-long invitation to read widely, deeply, or comfortingly. One hundred books is the goal, but the real prize is the time spent with stories. 📚✨

Good luck with the challenge. I cant wait to see what you read for it 100 books in a year seems a bit ambitious for me given my total during 2025 but I’m hoping I’ll get to more this year so depending on how my reading goes maybe I’ll join in next year. Either way I’ll keep an eye out to see what you get to.

It looks like you’ve read some great books already and that’s fantastic that you read so many last year. Sounds like you’ll smash it again
